We've been in business for over twenty five years now.
Nomad Travels was started by Ajay Prakash in 1988. He began his career with Air India, where he first gained his travel experience. Since then, he has come a long way and has played a leadership role in the travel and tourism industry. He's been the President of TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India), the Deputy Chairman of the WTAAA (World Travel Agents Associations Alliance), has spoken at various industry forums including the European Travel Forum and frequently appears on national television to comment and debate upon aviation and tourism issues.
We have a large number of corporate and leisure travellers across the world. Most importantly, we have a large number of satisfied clients! Our business is almost evenly divided between business/leisure travel out of India and incoming tourism.
We have a competent, sincere and caring staff, many of whom have been with the company over twenty years. We're a tight-knit team, quick to react to any situation. Our suppliers and handling agents have remained unchanged over the last many years and are used to delivering service according to our exacting standards, with an emphasis on detail. In short, we believe in building and retaining relationships and we're in it for the long haul.
We firmly believe that there is a definite need, and a niche, for an organization that delivers what it promises and is equipped to adapt to changing circumstances or missed connections- something that's a part of the inherent unpredictability of travel.

The Team
Ajay Prakash
Chief Executive
From being unemployed, to producing and directing plays on stage, to teaching English literature to college students, to working for an airline until he started Nomad Travels in 1988, Ajay has revelled in it all. He enjoys cross country driving, reading, the Grateful Dead and flying kites.
Derrick Fulgado
Manager, Ops.
Derrick's been with Nomad over 20 years now. Polite, soft-spoken and extremely knowledgeable about fares and ticketing, Derrick is a complete hands-on manager and gives his personal attention to all phone and email queries. Researching multiple options across various platforms, he makes sure that each itinerary is perfectly crafted according to individual needs. Derrick is married and has two school going boys. Derrick's interests include reading, music, and he's a great dancer!
Walter D'Souza
Assistant Manager, Ops.
Walter is Derrick's contemporary and has also been with Nomad for over 20 years. Apart from his in-depth knowledge of ticketing, Walter’s also an ace at visas and travel documentation. Guiding clients through the often cumbersome visa process, he ensures that all your documentation is in order well before your scheduled travel. Married and father to two young school going girls, Walter participates in the annual Mumbai Marathon, takes a keen interest in current affairs and is an active social worker in his parish.
Swati Bhambure
Manager, Accounts
Along with Derrick and Walter, Swati is the third pillar of Nomad. She, too, has been with the company for over 20 years. Her responsibilities include contracting with suppliers and customers, taxation, finance and accounting. Married and mother of a young college boy, Swati deftly balances her responsibilities at home and at work. Her interests include photography and travelling.
Namisha Darji & Deepali Barot
Executives, Ops.
Namisha and Deepali joined Nomad a little over 7 years ago within a couple of months of each other. Between them they handle ticketing and invoicing- both international and domestic. Any query for fares and ticketing, either on the phone or via email is promptly and efficiently handled by them. Namisha’s recently got married and enjoys movies, music and going out. Deepali is single and her interests include cooking and dancing.
Rashmi Prakash
Director, Tours
Leisure tours are Rashmi’s forte. From enquiry to flawless execution, Rashmi’s attention to detail ensures that each tour is perfectly customized to accommodate individual preferences. Rashmi’s full time involvement with Nomad started 10 years ago, once the boys had grown up. An ardent reader and a keen poet, Rashmi loves to paint on weekends.
