Travellers Tips
Weather for India -June 2010

Approximately : 34 - 31 °C
Climatic Conditions : Sunny
Rajasthan is a large and colourful state and has enough variety by way of landscape - from deserts to forests to hills. A custom designed itinerary can be built around your specific areas of interest and the time available to you. At the very minimum you would need a week to 10 days to get a fair feel of the region; you could even spend a month !

For our Bike tours we're using 350 cc single cylinder Royal Enfield bikes. This is an old English bike but is still manufactured in India and is unarguably the best bike for Indian roads. The best months for touring are from October to March, our winter season.

A typical itinerary would be from 7 to 10 days or longer and would involve riding for about 3 to 4 hours every morning (150 to 200 Km).We would explore the town after lunch and the evenings are free to relax at the hotel. All tours begin from Jaipur.

A jeep with a qualified mechanic, spares and first aid equipment accompanies the riders all through the tour. We are looking at no more than 5 bikes per group but could even do a tour for a lesser number.

Costs start from USD 125.00 per person per day and include rental, fuel, spares, the services of a mechanic, all meals and stay at lovely old havelis or guest houses. Excluded are insurance and items of a personal nature like alcohol, laundry, phones, tips etc. Though we prefer single riders per bike, we have no objection if a rider would like a friend to accompany him/her. There is an additional supplement of USD 55.00 per day in that case.

The tour could also be done entirely by a jeep which would take a maximum of 4 people. The cost for 4 people sharing 2 rooms including meals and accommodation but excluding insurance would be USD 400.00 per day. Two sample itineraries are attached.
