Kota Kinabalu :

Enjoy a state of timelessness by the sea, on the mountains or in the rainforest - Sabah has everything to offer with Kota Kinabalu (popularly known as KK) as a prime destination.

K.K. is the capital of the Sabah state in Malaysia. Located on the northwest coast of Borneo it faces the South China Sea. The Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park lies on one side with Mount Kinabalu and the Kinabalu Park not too far away. There are six small islands off the coast of the city, accessible by speed boat, this makes for charming day excursions. There are coral reefs and you can swim, snorkel, and scuba dive, the islands are popular picnic spots and fun for the family. Kota Kinabalu City Bird Sanctuary is 24 acres of protected Mangrove forest area. Mount Kinabalu is two hours drive from the city.

The rainforest of Sabah is well-known for its Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, where you can watch these animals in their natural habitat. Other popular tourist destinations like Langkawai, Penang, Sarawak and the famous National Park of Taman Negara are all within accessible range by road or air if you wish to extend your Malaysian holiday.

Kota Kinabalu enjoys a typical equatorial climate, with constant Temperature <br>s and considerable rains. The best months to visit would be from November to March. Kota Kinabalu International Airport links the city with other domestic and International destinations. It is the second busiest airport after the Kuala Lampur International Airport and is the secondary hub for Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.

Day 1:





 
Arrive Kuala Lampur. Take your connecting flight to Kota Kinabalu. Check in at your charming hotel The Megellan Sutera, an experience by itself, with a stunning view of the South China Sea. The grand architectural splendor of the hotel is quite breathtaking! Indulge yourself in the luxury of an excellent spa and a wonderful view. Overnight Kota Kinabalu.
Day 2:
After a laid-back breakfast walk to the Kota Kinabalu jetty, a very pleasant walk and board your boat for a twenty minute ride to the beautiful Manukkan or Sapi islands. You are free to laze around the beach, swim or snorkel. There are also trails for short nature walks. Other optional activities are Banana Boat Rides, Para Sailing, Canoeing and Wind Surfing. Enjoy a barbeque lunch. Return Kota Kinabalu. Overnight Kota Kinabalu. The Sutera Harbour also owns/operates the lovely resort on Manukkan - charming log huts with all amenities, perfect for that intimate holiday.
Day 3:
Set out for Kinabalu Park (2 hours by road) after an early breakfast. There are a number of lodges in and around the Kinabalu National Park - from the swank Kinabalu Lodge run by the Sutera Harbour to more modest accommodation. Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in S.E. Asia, is a glorious sight and even if you don't wish to climb the mountain, a night in the the Park is a wonderful getaway. Overnight at your lodge in Kinabalu Park.
Day 4:
After breakfast, drive back to Kota Kinabalu and check into your hotel. KK is a small town and it's a pleasure to walk along the waterfront, enjoy the sights and sounds of the local marketplace and indulge yourself in some truly awesome seafood, though vegetarians can also find enough sustenance. Overnight KK.
Day 5:
Catch your flight to Kuala Lampur. If you wish to extend your stay for two nights in Kuala Lampur or Bangkok, the option is yours. You could also extend your stay by a couple of days to see the awe inspiring ruins of Angkor Wat and take a connecting flight from KL to Siem Reap.
