Those
of you who have never travelled to India might worry about what
it's like.

Well...
it's different! Sights, sounds, smells, numbers... the sheer multiplicity
of experience is a virtual assault on your senses.

To some it's a culture shock - to some it's like coming home.

Coming to participate in a kite festival makes the transition to
this complex country much easier. You will be met on arrival at
the airport by one of our staff or associates and transferred to
your hotel/onward flight or train connection to Jodhpur. You will
probably meet other kite friends on your way and Jodhpur is a good
introduction to the country - it's not too large, you are assured
of warm hospitality and reasonable creature comforts and so, by
the time the Festival ends, you'll be feeling like an old "India
hand!" It's generally smooth sailing after that...

Do consult your doctor and take whatever shots he/she advises. Malaria
prophylaxis is strongly recommended and also a vaccination against
hepatitis. For the rest, following simple rules when travelling
in a foreign country should ensure that you have a safe and pleasant
trip.

You need a visa to travel to India. In case an invitation is required,
send us a message.

Air India offers us special reduced fares for all participants on
their network. If you can find better fares locally, great. If not,
contact us and we shall arrange to have your tickets issued and
sent to you. Before we can issue your tickets, you will need to
send us your passport details (number, full name, date of birth,
date of issue and expiry) and remit the money to our bank account
: Nomad Travels, Acc No. 24145, Union Bank of India, V.N. Road,
Mumbai 400 020.

The airfare Bombay - Jodhpur is USD 160 and Delhi - Jodhpur is USD
110 oneway (people under 30 get a 25% discount on domestic airfares).
From Delhi you could also take the overnight train which costs about
USD 30. This is probably what most participants will do. We shall
arrange to have you picked up from Delhi airport on the arrival
of your international flight, transferred to a hotel for the night
and then dropped to the railway station next evening. This service
will be USD 45 per person, including the railway ticket (air-conditioned
sleeper train) and the room at a hotel.

For
those people who would like to fly arrive in Bombay and then fly
to Jodhpur, the following additional costs will apply: A night's
accommodation in Bombay with roundtrip airport transfers and a short
city tour @ USD 50 per person on twin-share and airfare @ USD 160.

In case you also want to fly from Delhi to Jodhpur on the 9th, instead
of taking the overnight train, add USD 110 for the airfare.

In case you need any other services - if you plan to come to India
well before the Festival, or for any other
variations - just contact us with your requirements; travel is our
core business!

We look forward to seeing you in Jodhpur.
