Indian money (rupee) is available as notes in denominations of Re 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, Rs 10,
Rs 20, Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
Coins are available for Re1, Rs 2 and Rs 5.
Exchanging Money in India:
Travellers cheques are accepted at any bank in India. Credit cards are also accepted freely at all the larger stores. However, make sure you have Indian rupees as well for shopping in smaller shops or eating out in smaller restaurants.You can change your unused Rupees back to Dollars, Pounds or Euros on departure. |
