Tamilnadu is flanked by the Indian Ocean on its eastern borders, giving it the advantage of having long beaches. On the west is Kerala, God’s own country. With Andhra Pradesh in the north and Karnataka in the north-west it is close to all the popular destinations of the south. The southern most tip is Kanyakumari – virtually land’s end, with the great expanse of the Indian Ocean in magnificent view. Temple towns, forests and hillstations make Tamilnadu an exciting destination.

Chennai: Chennai is the bustling capital with the second largest beach in India – the Marina Beach. Fort St. George, St. Mary’s Church, the Cathedral Basilica, Vivekananda House, Kapaleeshwara and Fort Museum are the popular tourist destinations.

Mahabalipuram: This sea-side town, a short drive from the centre of Chennai, is a historical World Heritage Site in the Kancheepuram district famous for its rock-cut temples. The shore temples are a treasure-trove of architectural splendor. The place is also famous for its rich silk sarees.

Pondicherry: The French missionaries made Pondicherry a French town in the heart of southern India. The French influence dominates the town in its architecture, food and culture. Sri Aurobindo established his famous ashram here attracted by the tranquility of the place. The Promenade beach, the temples and churches make Pondicherry an ideal getaway.

Tanjore and Madurai: Both the places retain their small town charm. There are Majestic temples in both the places, like the Tanjore Brihadeeswara Temple and the Meenakshi temple in Madurai. Combined with splendid palaces and art galleries they are must-see destinations.

Kodaikanal: is a honeymooner’s paradise known for its lush green hills and meadows. Surrounded by the Western Ghats which rise to 2000 mts. The climate is always cool and pleasant. The terraced hill-sides and the lakes make it one of the most picturesque hillstations of India.

Kumarakom: is barely 180 km from Kodai in the beautiful district of Kerala. This is the most laid-back destination with the dreamy back-waters where you can hire your comfortable rice-boat and go for a night long cruise.

Cochin: The capital of Kerala is a modern city with an old world charm. Fort Cochin or the old Cochin has the oldest Jewish Synagoge and a number of lovely boutique hotels. The Chinese fishing nets along the coast-line is a sight not to be missed. Cochin is well connected with all the major cities.
